I had a solo exhibit in 2016-17 called "Dear Creatures" but not in the sentimental sense
of "dear" instead; "Dear Creatures" who know how to live on our shared earth.
I sketch in zoos, bird parks, and museums of natural history getting close to
my fellow animals.
Then translating these pen and ink drawings into beings in large format
multimedia art works.
I research and study the animals as I work.
Adding found objects to the animals creates a tactile
(in both senses of "feeling" which includes emotion)
for the viewer to notice and celebrate ANIMALS.
Which was followed by another solo exhibition at Jay Jay Gallery
in Sacramento CA.
Instead of titling it Dear Creatures 2, it was called "Natural History"
beacuse all but 2 were new paintings
